Scrap Basket Sunday - Week Two

What a hectic month April has been and April is not even half done for 2013. My pay the bills job is in high swing. The company is an equipment rental company for weddings/special events. The owners also decorate, coordinate, officiate, provide DJ services and planning assistance. November is wedding month in Panama City, FL followed closely by April. And, we have inflatables - bounce houses, slides, you name it. My brain is constantly challenged "switching gears" between the two!

I'm writing this early Saturday morning to post Sunday as my weekend is otherwise "mapped out!" My parents came down from Mississippi last Sunday. Our family celebrates lots of birthdays this time of year. My great niece turned 6 the end of March, her almost 2 brother has his party today, her sister will be double digits (10) later this month, followed by my mother's 80th and we are expecting a baby brother any minute - he has until Tuesday to make his appearance or the doctor is going to coax him into the world!

I did work in some sewing time this past week. I have all of the scrappy nine patch units for Hat Trick complete. Check out my progress -
My maternal grandmother was the Hat Lady. I have fond memories of her all decked out in her colorful hats for Sunday services.

I haven't abandoned my Country Charmer, which is also a scrappy project. All 20 blocks were completed a bit ago and I have the strips cut for the nine patch units and the sashing to tie the blocks all together. That is another post for another day.

Enjoy your scrappy Sunday!

Sounds like a really busy month socially as well as at work. Have a great time celebrating all those birthdays though.

Great scrappy blocks - the purples are my absolute favorite. I'm a Saturday poster too. ;)

I'm loving your nine patches. I haven't even started Hat Trick yet and the month is half over. And my parents are coming for a week on Sunday! Yikes!

I'm enjoying your progress and thinking about starting my own Hat Trick sometime soon. Boy, are you busy or what?! I'm glad you were able to find a little time to sew though. It's looking good!
