Dare to Be Square

I finally took a deep breath and started squaring up the 42 stars for My Lucky Stars queen quilt. I will admit I was petrified. Thankfully, all went well. And I can really believe this is going to be a quilt!

See! I got the 6 blocks for the first row and 2 for the second row ready to be stitched together. This quilt is supposed to be scrappy - then why is it taking me so long to decide which fabric to place where on each block? Perhaps I'm not a scrappy gal - just a plain old square! I am super pleased with how well the squaring up went today.

I also spent time today working on my gifties for my two swap partners. I can't show these just wanted to let my partners know I was working hard!

My scripture for today: "Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever." Psalms 119:160

HAPPY QUILTING TO ALL!

I love the fabric you are using. So far it looks as if you are making the right choices for the scrappy look. I'm with ChaCha, but unfortunately I can't sleep 18 hours a day:)

It takes a long time, but it's well worth doing the squaring up, it makes the joining together so much easier. Looks good already

Your blocks look wonderful.

When I have to do something scrappy I find the only way is to put the fabrics in a bag, pull out a piece and that's what I have to use. The only time I can change a piece is if it's going to be next to another piece the same.

Whoa! Love those star blocks! Those scrappy surrounds look great - what were you worried about? ;-)

Sue's got a good idea of mixing all the similar value fabrics & picking them out randomly. (Mind you, I arranged my Scatty Stars 'randomly' and I've found two the same are adjacent - but they're stitched in now, so tough!)

I see from a previous post that you're embarking on Sue's Stepping Stones - I'd love to see how you get on with it, especially as that's the one that I did for the BlogHop.
