Open Windows
The weather has been absolutely lovely for three whole days here in Panama City. Ms Cha Cha Cat has taken full advantage of the open windows. She has talked to the birds, run from the squirrels and spied on anyone getting within range.
My Scrappy Triangles quilt is slowly coming together. All the rows are stitched and I'm starting on the sashing to connect the rows. I am linking with Kim of Kim's Big Quilting Adventure for Scrap Basket Sunday.
My nephew, Scott, continues to show slow signs of improvement. God is good! I am so grateful. Keep Scott and our family in your prayers.

Scraps of My Life
Here's the little pile of HSTs left from my Scrappy Triangles. I'm sure these will become part of a future project.
All the blocks are complete. I managed to get the sashing/borders cut and have actually sewn a row and a half together. Stitching has been slow around this house. I'm linking with Kim of Kim's Big Quilting Adventure for Scrap Basket Sunday. Drop by Kim's to see what everyone else is up to.
Ms Cha Cha Cat is enjoying a brief morning sitting in an open window. This happens rarely in the Florida heat and since the sun has come out her perch will soon come to an end today. I would say poor kitty but she hates the window once the day gets hot. Her has great appreciation of air conditioning.
My nephew, Scott, is back in surgery as I write this. The doctors are repairing his jaw which was broken in 4 places as well as setting a few broken bones. Your prayers and kind comments this past week have been most appreciated. I will get around to responding personally to each of you. Until then know I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Should any of you be in (or know anyone who will be in) Tallahassee, FL on November 6, 2013 please stop by Lake Ella at 10 a.m. EST to join the Walk for Scott. Information on the fund raiser can be found HERE.
Update - my niece posted this to Facebook ....

I have always known this, but for those of you who don't, my brother, Scott Mobley, is one stubbornly strong fighter! Today's round of surgery went well Sending many thanks to everyone for their support and a special thanks to God!

Update
Surgery to relieve pressure on Scott's brain was performed Friday night. Scott, my nephew, remains unconscious yet holding his own from the hit-and-run October 5th. My family waits. Life for us changed in an instant. We cling to our faith.
"I have set the Lord always before me, because He is my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth; my flesh also shall rest in HOPE." Psalms 16:8-9 KJV
Thank you to all who have been praying for us. Even though I may not have responded to you personally, please know I am most appreciative.

There has been no sewing this past week. My Scrappy Triangles blocks sit on the design wall ready for sashing and the additional yard of fabric I needed for this did arrive this week.
I will get back to it. I am linking with Kim of Kim's Big Quilting Adventure for Scrap Basket Sunday.
The Christmas QAL & Challenge for October continues today. Joanna of Needles, Thread, Happiness is the lovely hostess for this month. My applique sits exactly where it was a month ago and may not see progress for a while but that, too I will get back to.
The crazy brown specks on the Where She Should Not Be! black Ms Cha Cha Cat below are catnip. She has been rolling and rolling in Catnip Heaven!

Crime Wave Hits Panama City
There has been a recent rash of "unexplained" thumps and bumps and oddly relocated (some from cabinet to floor!) items at my house. For the most these unusual happenings have been confined to my kitchen. Ms Cha Cha Cat and I have been at a complete loss to figure out what was taking place. Ms Cat has diligently assisted in my search for the criminal.
Looking back the Crime Wave started about the time I discovered the power of a STEAM to press zillions of intersecting seams of the Scrappy Triangles quilt I've been working on. Hmm.....
The other morning I ran to the store before work as we were out of cat treats - a devastating, unacceptable, horrid event at this house! The cat treats I purchased at Walmart the evening before were mysteriously not in the house. Our new Walmart, on the side of town I work on, was built with a stunning display of checkout stands ... with DISPLAY being the operative word - they open 3, 4 if we are lucky, during rush hour. This Walmart has also initiated a new spinning carousal game apparently designed to maximize the number of items the cashier can cram into a plastic bag, while drawing the customers attention away from monitoring the register price vs the posted store price. I've won a few (taken home items someone else paid for) and lost (got home without items I paid for) enough to send me back to the more costly grocery stores for most purchases.
But back to the original story .... Ms Cha Cha Cat must have assumed I was gone for the day because I walked in to find this ...
prancing around on the kitchen counter!
No wonder Ms Cat was having such a difficult time helping me find the criminal!
Of course, the entire Crime Wave was all my fault. A measuring cup with traces of tap water sitting on a kitchen counter is a MUST HAVE! Who would consider drinking fresh water out of a clean bowl on the floor when the measuring cup calls?
The measuring cup was intended for filling the iron with water to get the magic steam not contributing to the delinquency of a cat!
Naughty cat! She knows she is not supposed to be on the kitchen cabinets.
The thumps and bumps have stopped (for now!) since I have removed the criminal measuring cup permanently from the counter.
Speaking of Scrappy Triangles - all 12 blocks, 8 of the 14 triangle borders and all 4 corner pieces are hanging on the design tablecloth..
I'm enjoying how this quilt is coming together. I love the interesting pattern the corners become.
There is lots remaining to finish. The sashing/outer border will be navy to tie everything together. I have the perfect fabric ... just not enough. The local quilt shop did not have the yard I need so I see an Internet search in my near future.

My Country Charmer remains a flimsy. Alas, no progress since our September update. The above is a new picture of a few of my favorite blocks. I LOVE this quilt!
